A visit to a night market in Thailand

A visit to a night market in Thailand

(For English version scroll down a bit)
In Thailand you don’t need to look out for night markets, they will find you! I was riding my scooter back to my hostel and got lost on the way. Instead of my hostel, I found the night market “Malin Plaza” in Patong. The smell of grilled meat is lying in the air. Now that the heat from the day is gone and it turned night, Phuket is waking up. Lot of people open their stalls here- every single evening. Cookshops on the road in Thailand are not a rarity. Especially in big cities like Bangkok, where people don’t have much space too live, not everyone has their own kitchen. Families are often living in one room. Because food can’t be cooked at home, lot of food stalls on the roads or on markets offer all kinds of food, which get freshly prepared for the customer after ordering.
Here, Thais are buying food for their families and tourists are walking around. Satay, the catch of the day lies on ice, fruits in all kind of colors, spices are offered. There is nothing which isn’t sold here. I even discovered a food stall selling sushi. After you made your choise, they will prepare it for you. Meat and fish is grilled on the BBQ and you can choose the sauce later. You can have it as a take away or sit down and eat on the market. It is hard to resist and not try everything which is sold here.
Further there is also a market under a roof where clothes, cosmetics, electronics, tea and many other things are sold. As I said, you don’t have to search here, you will get found.
