Our experience

They are so many great tours to choose from that we would have liked to go on each single one. The time we had in Ao Nang was unfortunately way too short to do that. But even if you only have a limited amount of time, on the tours of Krabi Spesialisten you really get a great overview of what the region of Krabi has to offer.

We decided to do a half day tour on one of their big boats around the islands that included two stops on snorkeling sites and ended with watching the sunset from the boat.

We got picked up in the morning from our hotel by a mini bus and taken to the pier where we met our guide Sven who was German. As a large number of our group was from Finland we also had a Finish speaking  guide with us. Up front they checked about special dietary needs to make sure to cater to everyones needs.

We got equipped with life jackets and got taken to the big boat via long tail boat.

After a couple of minutes we reached the boat called ‘Freedom 1’, an Indonesian Pinisi. That is a two-masted sailing ship.

We made ourselves comfortable and as soon as we sat down we got offered something to drink. On the tour water, soft drinks and coffee and tea are complimentary. Snacks, lunch and dinner were also included.

After a quick introduction from our guides it was time to start the tour.

We past numerous of stunning islands made up from limestone, some smaller and some bigger. Soon after our departure we came past Chicken, Top, Poda and Yawasam island- also know as the four islands. After a while we sailed past Koh Daeng, Daeng actually means red, and stopped to do some snorkeling.

Our guide provided us with the snorkeling equipment and life jackets and we jumped in the the water. I love snorkeling and was one of the last ones to return back on the boat. Simply love to discover the fascinating underwater world and here in Thailand you really can see stunning coral reefs and a large number of different exotic fish.

When I climbed back on the boat they already had lunch ready for us, all freshly cooked on the boat.

We started off with a delicious soup and then were able to help ourselves to some delicious Thai dishes like Cashew Chicken and Beef Curry. For the ones with special dietary needs they prepared something extra.

After all the snorkeling we were really hungry and everything we tried was really fresh and delicious. After lunch we relaxed on deck of the boat in the sun and then the tour continued.

We went past various islands and sailed past Chicken Island again to take a closer look. Next to it you find Turtle Island.

The resemblance is astonishing isn’t it?

We sailed on for a while and then stopped again for some more snorkeling at the second snorkeling site close to Tub Island. After we explored the underwater world even further we had a blast jumping from the top deck of the boat with our guide Sven.

We had such a good time on the tour that we were very surprised that it was almost time for sunset. Everyone received a fruity cocktail and after we all cheered together we enjoyed our drink and watched the sun disappear in the ocean in front of us.

On the way back we also got dinner: some spring rolls, chicken wings and fruit as dessert.

The day was about to come to an end. We had a fantastic time on tour with Krabi Spesialisten and it was a very nice relaxing day where we were able to see some of the islands and do some snorkeling.

I can only recommend you to check out their tours and go exploring with them. I hope I get the chance to go back soon and see some more of this stunning area with Krabi Spesialisten.
