When thinking about Vienna-what comes to your mind? The opera, Sissi and Franz, the Sacher cake. Vienna is that and much more: it has a trendy art scene, world class museums, fantastic shopping, food from all over the world to try and it has without doubt some of the most beautiful architecture in Europe. All of that are great reasons why you should put Vienna high up on your list for your next city trip.

Overview

The 25 hours hotel in Vienna is situated a the museums quarter- a perfect location for your city trip. The museums quarter is one of the largest art and culture complexes worldwide. With plenty museums, cafés and shops to chose from this place is a lively hotspot in the heart of Vienna. Other famous sights are within walking distance or just a short metro right away from the hotel. This design hotel is unique, hip and plays with the dreams and sensations associated with the world of the circus making a stay a special experience with lots of things to discover.

The 25 hours hotel experience

254

„We are all mad here“ is the slogan of the 25 hours hotel in Vienna and once you enter the lobby, you might get a hint of that already. The circus theme is well thought-out down to the tiniest detail.

The reception reminds of a lion’s cage with a sign saying “please do not feed”.

The check in is easy and quick and my stay starts with a surprise: The friendly guy at the receptions proposes to upgrade me to a room with a better view of the city. A good start of my trip already.

I walk past photo booths and cool design furniture and get in the elevator which surprisingly isn’t your usual elevator and resembles a cage. After snapping a quick photo I reach the floor where my room is situated.

The Rooms

On 7 floors room categories are M, M+, L and XL. Suites and Panorama Suites are also available.

Since being upgraded at the check in I got to experience the M+ room that has a great view over the city and the parliament.

The interior decor is fun and fabulous with a big wall painting over the queen size bed showing people of the circus- this clearly being the highlight of the room.

I was also pleased to see an iPod docking station at a large study desk right by the window and found some unusual extras like a bag you can borrow throughout your stay and a little plush toy elephant on the bed.

The room is equipped with a mini bar, however I was missing tea and coffee making facilities.

Then there was the light bathroom with a glass panel between shower and bedroom, which can be either left transparent or concealed with a flexible shutter. A nice touch are the natural beauty products and the light bulbs around the mirror- once again proves that the show theme is visible in every little corner.

Food and drink options

253

One thing is sure: with many options to chose from you won’t stay hungry.

In the morning you have the option to start your day with a large breakfast buffet with lots of choices of different fruit, yogurt, baked good, egg dishes etc. That will cost you 19 € and for the ones who don’t have much time, there is a Grab&Go option available for as little as 7 €.

For lunch and dinner the “1500 foodmakers” is the place to go for italian food that is newly interpreted.

If the weather allows it head to the outdoor area to the food truck “Burger de Ville” for top quality burgers.

Want to enjoy your afternoon coffee or a cocktail in the evening: then head to the “Dachboden” on the 7th floor. This is a great hangout spot with a stunning view over Vienna from the terrace. On Wednesdays you can party here with guests and locals.

The Extras

There are many extras which ensures a comfortable stay for guests.  You can channel your inner mermaid in the mermaid’s cove: to use the spa and sauna during your stay it costs a little extra of 10€.

Fancy playing around with an iPad? That can be borrowed here.

My personal highlight was the option to discover the city on wheels: guest can rent bikes at the reception for free and even lend a MINI which is also complimentary and discover the beautiful surroundings. This is the first time I have encountered that in a hotel and even though I didn’t have the time to make use of it, I surely will when staying at one of the 25hours hotels again.

Book this hotel if …

I would solely recommend you to stay at the 25hours hotel Vienna to experience the fabulous interior design alone- it’s truly fun and something else.

However this is a great choice for a number of reasons: the perfect location to explore what Vienna has to offer, the fabulous view over the city and a great, motivated team of staff that ensure you have a great stay.

This place is clearly one of my favorite design hotels.

Traveler’s Little Treasures was welcomed to this hotel as a guest, however my opinion is as always, my own.
