A hidden treasure – The Freedom Bar in Phuket, Thailand

Die Temperaturen sind etwas abgekühlt und Wasser perlt an meinem Glas herab. Die Cola ist eiskalt, im Hintergrund ertönt sanft Bob Marley aus den Lautsprechern. Langsam färbt sich der Himmel in leuchtenden rottönen über der kleinen Rawai Bucht und eine leichte Brise streicht mir über die Haut.
Fernab vom wilden Treiben in Patong habe ich ein kleines Stück Himmel auf Erden entdeckt. Man kann hier die Seele baumeln lassen und wunderbar entspannen. Während sonst überall auf Phuket das Hupen der Motorräder hört, findet man hier eine Oase der Stille.
Von der Freedom Bar ist die Rede, die sich auf einer Erhöhung kurz vor Surin befindet. Von Patong kann man sie in 10 Minuten mit dem Motorrad erreichen. Wenn man durch das Eingangstor gegangen ist, erwartet einen ein beeindruckender Blick über das Meer, den Strand und die Palmen. Vor allem wenn die Sonne langsam untergeht, scheint das der schönste Platz der Welt zu sein.
Diese Bar zu entdecken war ein wahrer Glücksgriff.
The temperature cooled down a bit and water is running down my glas. The coke is ice cold and Bob Marley is coming out of the speakers in the background. Slowly the sky turns in a red color. And the Rawai bay looks very peaceful; a cool breeze is caressing my skin.
Away from the craziness of Paton I discovered a little piece of heaven on earth. You can take a break from everyday life here and relax wonderfully. While you can hear the honking of motorbikes everywhere in Phuket at day and nice, here you find an oasis of silence.
We are talking about the Freedom bar here, which is located on a mountain just before Surin beach. From Patong it takes 10 minutes by motorbike along the coastal road to get here. When you walked through the gate, a spectacular view over the bay, the blue sea, the sandy beach and the palm trees moving in the wind is waiting for you. And when the sun sets, this bar seems to be the nices place on earth.
