Interior Inspiration: Create a Gallery Wall
As you know I moved to the Netherlands a while ago and during the move I discovered my love for interior design. I have spend hours and hours researching different ideas for the apartment and wandering through interior stores to find inspiration for our own four walls. I have already shared a first glimpse of our apartment with you in this post. We did have most of our furniture together by the time, but was missing was a finishing touch with some true eye-catcher pieces, decor and small bits and bobs.
Especially one trend you see everywhere at the moment: Gallery walls- a collection of your favorite photographs and prints. There are no rules. You can mix and match and choose posters and frames in different styles and sizes, and then assembling the wall.
If you have a hard time selecting one poster why don’t you just get them all. Gallery walls can become a real highlight in the room and instantly elevate the style of any space.
Here are some tips and tricks on how to create your very own gallery wall. Plus I got you an awesome discount code, so don’t miss reading until the end (valid from the 6th-8th of June).
- Getting ideas: For inspiration I can recommend you to have a stroll through instagram or pinterest and save pictures of gallery walls that you like.
- Equipment: You will need a hammer, nails, a measuring tape and a water level.
- Where to shop: The hard part is choosing which prints and frames you want. I personally can recommend the online shop DESENIO. They have an incredible selection of wall art including beautiful posters and prints as well as different frames. We were planning on creating a gallery wall above the bed as the room looked very empty and found all the posters that we used on DESENIO. Shipping was fast and when we unwrapped the parcel we were extremely satisfied with the quality of the products.
- Lay it out: Next step is planning how to arrange the frames on the wall. We measured the space we had on the wall and assembled the frames on the floor first until we were satisfied with it. Take a couple of pictures for your reference before hanging them up on the wall. If you can get someone to help you hanging them up as it makes the procedure more easy and it is nice to have a second opinion if the pictures are straight and are in the right place.
… And it’s complete- your very own gallery wall. We are in love with it.
I am super excited to share a 25 % discount code with you that you can use on your order with DESENIO. Use the code ‘TRAVELERSLITTLETREASURES’ for 25% off your order at Desenio between 6th – 8th June. Not valid on Handpicked/frame.
Happy shopping and I can’t wait to see your final results.
