10 Tips for your Visit to Disneyland Paris
Your visit to Disneyland should be magical and a day to remember. Here is a little guide with recommendations that should help you make the most out of your time there.
1. Start your day early
Set your alarm early. Once the gate open to the magical world of Disneyland you want to be there already. To reach the park it takes around 45 minutes from the city center which you should plan. Since there is so much to do and see it is great to be one of the first ones in the park. Head to the most popular rides first. You will definitely need the full day to get the major attractions done.
2. Plan your visit
Inform yourself before visiting the parks on the website and write down what you want to visit. If you are only staying for a day, you don’t want to miss out on the highlights. Also write down the times of the shows you want to stay and plan your stay around it. When you get to the park you already know what to do there and the map you get once you enter will help you to orientate.
3. Don’t try to do everything
I can tell you that from my own experience. We got to the park and started queuing for the first things we saw, in the end, shortly before the park was about to close we realized that the great rides were just about to come and we were running to still manage to do them. Going on all the rides and seeing all the shows is not possible. Pick your favorites and otherwise walk around and enjoy the atmosphere of the park.
4. Be prepared to stand in line
For the most popular rides it is not unusual that you have to wait for over an hour. If you really want to go on that ride then wait, but sometimes it is worth it to move to another ride and then come back shortly before the park closes. If you are visiting the park with kids I would recommend to bring some games or books along in order to entertain them during a long wait. It might be worth getting a FASTPASS ticket which allows you to enjoy the attractions with a minimum wait.
5. Don’t miss the Disney Magic on Parade!
The Disney Magic on parade was the highlight of the day for everyone visiting the park. You will be able to see your favorite Disney characters in wonderful costumes dancing and waving at the crowd as the pass by on colorful fleets in front of the Sleeping Beauty castle. It is simply one big party and something not to miss.
6. Stay until late
If you can stay until the park closes. The park will be less busy and it means the wait for the rides is way shorter. At the end of the day there is another highlight: a spectacular show with fireworks, music and a laser show by the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
7. Don’t miss out on the best rides
Our favorite rides where: Space Mountain: Mission 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Deril in the Disneyland Park and we loved Ratatouille: The Adventure, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in the Walt Disney Studios Park.
8. Being prepared is the key
Since you are probably going to spend the entire day at Disneyland it is good to come prepared. Bring some snacks and drinks (you can refill your water bottle in the park for free) and also pack sunscreen and some extra clothes for the evening.
9. Maybe consider a two day stay
If you are coming all the way just for Disneyland Paris you might want to consider to stay for two days. There are endless options of themed hotel and many interesting shows to watch. The good thing is that you can return to your hotel during your day if you need a rest and always return to the parks whenever you like. Plus chances are higher that you will be able to do everything you like to do in the two days.
10. But last but not least: Have fun!
A visit to Disneyland is something special for kids and adults alike. Enjoy your day in this magical, creative world and have fun being a kid again.
